Once it was the standard practice to install new servers on bare metal, with one Administrator keenly watching the install process for errors and to select the correct options when prompted. Today although this process may still be done, it is not considered state of the art.
Today new servers and services are being implemented at a much faster rate than before. We are now able to use templates to have base configurations, or we are able to use configuration automation tools like Puppet or Chef, or servers are skipped entirely and services are created in containers. No matter how it is done, servers are being created and destroyed much faster than previously thought possible.
The current state of networking is most companies have switches and routers that need to be configured occasionally, and when they are it is with a human at a CLI making changes that have been approved by the CAB. The change is manual, the testing is manual and the rollback is manual.
If this is where your company is, let us help! We can work with your team to start you on the right foot to automate parts of your network and workflow so you will be able to focus on the important parts of your business, whatever they may be.
Developers in the company have gotten the hang of DevOps and are working with Operations to get the services they need running, but whenever infrastructure changes are required (firewall rules, static routes, load balancers, etc.) everything grinds to a halt.
We can talk to the Developers and the system Operations folks to find out what they need from the infrastructure teams, and develop a process to automate the standing up of new servers with changes that need to be made on the infrastructure. Instead of weeks to have the infrastructure adapt to the new servers, it can be configured properly in minutes, with automatic testing and roll back to known good configurations.
Developers have moved some or all of your services to the cloud. The cloud is now a critical part of your business, and needs to be managed and controlled just like the on-premises services.
Azure, AWS, Google, Oracle or private. It does not matter who your cloud partners are. We can assist in making your services understood by the protections you have in place. We can also help you make the move to the cloud as quick as possible by pointing out some of the potholes that are hiding in the fog.
If any of this sounds like something you would like to talk about send an email to sales, and we can organize a meeting to discuss your concerns further.
